Reflection

Fundamentals of Digital media

was the first online class that I have ever taken. Going into this class I was not sure what to expect. I have never been very good with computers so I was very nervous. Through this class I learned so much. I learned how to make my own song and then make a youtube video. I also learned about so many online applications, and how to create a 3D image. I enjoyed everything I learned. Through this class I feel like my art has been giving a chance to grow. I have learned that computers can not only help you with your project but allow you to create amazing things. I still use the photo editing application we learned. What I liked most about this class is that everything we learned is relevant. I can see myself if the future going back to these websites to create logos, or images to promote my art.
Creating my own website was at first scary to think about. I am so glad that creating an artist website was something we had to do. I am going for my BFA and later my MFA and I am so grateful that I now know how to showcase my art on a website for the future.
This class was very helpful. I would not have been able to complete the projects without the online tutorials. I think that was a great idea to have step by step tutorials. These came in handy during the grid photo and the website. I would recommend this course for all students that want to further their art experience. This class will not only be helpful now but for years to come.
I wanted to share my favorite project of the year with everyone. This project was challenging but very fun. My final Grid Picture.

Linus

I not only become roommates with my sister, but her dog Linus. Linus is a 2year old shepherd mix. I refer to him as my nephew, so I would be his Aunt Kelsey. Well me and my sister think that Linus sees me as his pet or present. Linus treats me as an equal and as anyone knows from owning dogs that this could be a problem. This silly dog takes all his toys into my room and hides them ( he thinks my room is his). I love this little monster, but I am in the process of trying to teach him that I am an owner and not a pet. Wish me luck.

1 Direction Craze!

If you have not heard of One Direction, you need to get out more. I want to say that I fought the One Direction craze, I refused to be a follow. I tried...I failed. The image above is a funny little image I found, wither you think One Direction is the new Beetles or not, I have to agree they are good. I am a One Directions fan...my little sister would be proud. If you have not listen to them, do it they make you happy.

New Job

Recently I started working at Chipotle! I have been looking for a job and Chipotle seemed like a good fit. Chipotle is a interesting job, it is crazy how many rules there are whoo! I hope that I continue to learn through this job. The people are great and its an amazing environment.

3D Project

123D is a free online applications that allows you to transform your images to 3D art. You can upload a video to youtube once your project is complete. Its pretty simple to use, just take about 40 images from all different angles of a stationary object, place, or person. Than upload the images into 123D Catch. The application does most of the work for you. For my piece I choose a Disney Christmas ornament from my favorite movie. Once I finished the process I realized that I should have taken more photos and had better light. Next time I will keep this in mind. I encourage everyone to try 123D Catch and experience it for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMTIUd2Bx_g

Logo Blog

This week I attempted to create my own logo. With the use of vector programing. I wanted to create a clean logo that still captured your attention. At first I wanted to include the name of my Blog so that was my first logo. After working with the application more I soon realized that I enjoyed to simple square designs. So my second attempt was to create an active design just using the squares with similar colors.

typography

This week in my media class we learned about typography. Typography is a form of art where you use text to create your images. There are a few applications that are free online for you to explore. My favorite application Tagxedo, which is the image of Dory. I enjoyed this application the most because I felt like this application offered the most chance to be the most creative. With this application you can choose your image, font, color and how the words are placed in your image. I encourage you all to explore these online applications Tagxedo, ACSII, Text-Image, Textorizer, Textorizer 2, Excoffizer.

The Doors of Maumee

This week in class we learned how to make a grid from photos we have taken. My 16 photos I took where the doors of downtown Maumee. I wanted to capture doors. We use doors every day, and most doors are not the same. Doors come are very unique and we use them constantly throughout the day. I want to take time and really look at the doors that I use and so many others. So this is my grid of common used doors.

Generative Art

Scribbler 2
Using online applications to create art is an awesome thing to explore. The possibility are simply endless. I used 3 applications all together, Scribbler, Scribbler 2, and Flame. I enjoyed them all, but I like Scribbler 2 and Flame the best. In these to applications you have more control over you piece and the out come. I hope everyone explores these applications and allow your creativity to shine!

With Scribbler 2  I wanted to experience the different depths I could create. Also I had more fun with color and their relationships with these pieces.                                                           With Flame I was focused on creating movement throughout my pieces. The image below shows that more clearly. The image to the right I liked the idea of space and the way that the light burst made your eyes jump.
With Scribbler I enjoyed the dense areas I could create. I wanted each piece to feel light, but also hold value and substance.

Always a Child

Today my family came to visit me here in Toledo. My family lives over an hour away, but today they wanted to spend the day with me at the Toledo Museum of Art. Being with both of my sisters today reminded me on how we never loss that child inside us. After walking around the TMA we decided what would be more fun than a photo shoot by the sculptures. It was so fun striking poses and being silly. Sometimes we need to let the child out.

Video Sharing

Try our video maker at Animoto.
Hey everyone! I just created my very own video using Animoto.com. This is a wonderful site to create an unique video just for you. Simply choice a song and all your pictures and create your video. This site basically does your work for you. I used my Urban Landscape photos I should everyone last week. I picked a song that was upbeat and fresh sounding. I think the song really makes you feel like you can be walking looking at these views down a busy street. So check out my video, Enjoy!

Beauty can be found in all places if you have the courage to look

Greetings! The past two weeks have been very educational for me. I recently moved to Maumee with my older sister. Moving from the country to the big city posses numerous adjustments to make, such as driving making new friends ect. In one of my classes I am taking at UT the assignment was to go out and take photos of the urban landscape around you. As someone who has been a little negative about moving here, I was not thrilled about living my safe apartment. As I walked around downtown Maumme and Perrysburg my artistic eye broke free. I started to see this area as something beautiful. Around every corner can be something eye catching. I felt free and more at home than I have since the three weeks living here. So I wanted to share my favorite picture with you all today, if you wanted to see me visit

 Enjoy the beauty I found.
