typography

This week in my media class we learned about typography. Typography is a form of art where you use text to create your images. There are a few applications that are free online for you to explore. My favorite application Tagxedo, which is the image of Dory. I enjoyed this application the most because I felt like this application offered the most chance to be the most creative. With this application you can choose your image, font, color and how the words are placed in your image. I encourage you all to explore these online applications Tagxedo, ACSII, Text-Image, Textorizer, Textorizer 2, Excoffizer.

The Doors of Maumee

This week in class we learned how to make a grid from photos we have taken. My 16 photos I took where the doors of downtown Maumee. I wanted to capture doors. We use doors every day, and most doors are not the same. Doors come are very unique and we use them constantly throughout the day. I want to take time and really look at the doors that I use and so many others. So this is my grid of common used doors.

Generative Art

Scribbler 2
Using online applications to create art is an awesome thing to explore. The possibility are simply endless. I used 3 applications all together, Scribbler, Scribbler 2, and Flame. I enjoyed them all, but I like Scribbler 2 and Flame the best. In these to applications you have more control over you piece and the out come. I hope everyone explores these applications and allow your creativity to shine!

With Scribbler 2  I wanted to experience the different depths I could create. Also I had more fun with color and their relationships with these pieces.                                                           With Flame I was focused on creating movement throughout my pieces. The image below shows that more clearly. The image to the right I liked the idea of space and the way that the light burst made your eyes jump.
With Scribbler I enjoyed the dense areas I could create. I wanted each piece to feel light, but also hold value and substance.

Always a Child

Today my family came to visit me here in Toledo. My family lives over an hour away, but today they wanted to spend the day with me at the Toledo Museum of Art. Being with both of my sisters today reminded me on how we never loss that child inside us. After walking around the TMA we decided what would be more fun than a photo shoot by the sculptures. It was so fun striking poses and being silly. Sometimes we need to let the child out.
